Emily Blunt Won’t Play Husband’s Love Interest

Emily Blunt has no desire to play her actor husband John Krasinski’s love interest onscreen, insisting their chemistry is “not for public consumption”.
Fans of the The Devil Wears Prada star and The Office alum have often asked the couple about plans to team up on the big screen, and, in a new C Magazine interview, Emily doesn’t rule out the idea of working opposite each other – but she insists any future pairing will not include a romantic storyline. “I think we would prefer it to be something where we’re not married or boyfriend and girlfriend,” she explains. “Our chemistry is not up for public consumption. We’d like to do a play. That would be cool.”
Emily and John, who is currently starring in Off-Broadway play Dry Powder opposite Claire Danes, briefly gave fans a preview of what a potential project would look like by making cameos in two comedy sketches for their friend and U.S. talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. In 2012, Emily played a young maiden and John her minstrel husband in a skit called Movie: The Movie, and last year, they starred as themselves in a sketch centred on The Kimmel School of Perfect Acting, in which comedian Jimmy instructed the two to act as if they were not married, a role playing exercise a “sad” Emily justified as a “sacrifice” for art.

Emily Blunt Won’t Do Anymore Nude Scenes

Emily Blunt has said she will no longer do nude scenes, calling them unnecessary and gratuitous. The Devil Wears Prada star, who is mother to Hazel, two, and is pregnant with her second daughter with husband John Krasinski, recently revealed that she isn’t keen on nudity as she’s been there and done it in the past.
“Too racy would be one thing I wouldn’t go for now. I’m not so keen on doing nudity, because I’m not 22 any more,” the 33-year-old told British newspaper The Telegraph. “And actually it’s not so much a moral thing as, ‘I’ve done it before and do I really want to do it again?’ Does it serve the film or is it gratuitous and seeing someone’s t**s for the sake of it? Because I don’t think it’s necessary most of the time. “Also playing violent or racist characters would be hard for me now.”
Emily, who currently stars in the new Snow White origin movie sequel The Huntsman: Winter’s War alongside Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, also explained that balancing her career with family life is becoming more of a struggle. “Although life is a juggle and I have to spend a few days away from Hazel here and there, when I’m not working I’m with her all the time. I do think it will get harder to leave her as she gets older, but a friend once gave me a good piece of advice. Instead of saying, ‘Mummy has to go, say, ‘Mummy has to go, but I love what I do. I just love it!'” she smiled.
She also admitted that its getting harder to go incognito while out in public, especially now her career is going from strength to strength. “It went from people in the street saying, ‘You look like the girl in The Devil Wears Prada’, to, ‘You look like Emily Blunt.’ And now it’s, ‘You’re Emily Blunt!'” she laughed.
However, she did confess that it’s difficult to disappear under the radar while out and about with John, as the former The Office star stands out from the crowds. “He’s so tall, so he really draws the eye,” she joked.

Emily Blunt In Talks For ‘Mary Poppins’ Sequel?

British actress Emily Blunt is in talks to portray beloved nanny Mary Poppins in a planned sequel to Julie Andrews’ Disney movie musical. Studio bosses recently announced plans to give the character a revamp in a new film, to be directed by Chicago filmmaker Rob Marshall, with a story set 20 years after Andrews’ classic 1964 musical.
And now, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter the pregnant Sicario actress is the top choice to take on the role, but the deal has yet to be finalised due to scheduling as Blunt is expecting her second child with husband John Krasinski. If she signs on, Blunt will be reunited with her Into The Woods director, Marshall, and producers John DeLuca and Marc Platt.
The new instalment of Mary Poppins will be adapted from author P.L. Travers’ children’s book series, and will feature Mary’s other adventures with the Banks family, who hire her as a nanny, according to Entertainment Weekly. Ironically, Blunt’s The Devil Wears Prada co-star Anne Hathaway was also rumoured to be a top choice for the role, but she shot down the reports and insisted her pal Blunt was the right choice for the part.
Hathaway previously told Entertainment Tonight, “No one’s talked to me about it… I feel like she’s (Blunt) going to get it – she’s British!”
And Julie Andrews has given both Blunt and Hathaway her blessing to tackle Poppins, tell America’s Today show last year, “I’m kind of interested in it. It’s not going to be a recreation of the original… and after 50 years since it was made, it’s about time, I guess. “Anne sings wonderfully and she’s so talented, she can do anything! And Emily, whom I adore, also (sic).”

Emily Blunt Spooked By Shark On Honeymoon

Actress Emily Blunt Almost Passed Out Underwater On Her Honeymoon As She Was So Terrified When She Came Face-to-face With A Shark.
The British beauty married US star John Krasinski in 2010, and they enjoyed a luxury holiday afterwards. To make their time away extra special John convinced his new wife to give scuba diving a try, but she took a lot of convincing as she was intensely worried about sharks. After John made her see they would never come face-to-face with such a creature she gave it a go – and things went downhill.
“I know every shark looks like Jaws, but these really look like Jaws and they’re huge… and they swim very close,” John told talk show host Ellen Degeneres. “Emily never wanted to learn scuba diving and I was like, ‘We’ll never get into trouble with sharks.’ All of a sudden one broke off from the circle and started swimming behind us. I saw it and Emily didn’t. He started to charge Emily, so my decision was, ‘If I spook her and she moves a lot, he might bite her.’ I just let it ride. “(When she realised how close it was to her) air bubbles came out, she kind of passed out under water. All of her air just went to the top, it was pretty scary.”
Luckily Emily managed to recover and wasn’t taken ill, and after the incident things did improve. Especially touching was a moment the 32-year-old star enjoyed with another underwater critter. “A sea turtle that came up, I’m not kidding, put his arm around her and then started petting her head. He hugged her,” John laughed. “It was like he knew she had had a bad day and was like, ‘Sorry about my buddy Terry, he gets real close on the flybys.'”
Emily didn’t hold the shark issue against John and they enjoy an extremely happy marriage. They are parents to daughter Hazel, who turned two in February and has really started to show her own personality of late. She’s picked up some of Emily’s UK accent, and she’s also experimenting with language. “She’s starting to (do) little bits,” John laughed. “Like when she’s looking for me, instead of saying, ‘Daddy, Daddy’ she goes, ‘Where is that Daddy?'”

Emily Blunt Suffered Sleepless Nights On Movie Set

British Actress Emily Blunt Suffered Sleepless Nights After Filming A Harrowing Scene For Her New Movie The Girl On The Train. The Edge of Tomorrow star plays a divorced alcoholic who spies on a couple she spots on her commute in the upcoming adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel.
Emily has been filming the thriller in New York, and admits she struggled to sleep after shooting a particularly dramatic fight scene. “I went home and I couldn’t sleep for two or three days in a row and it was odd,” she told reporters at a press conference in the Big Apple. “I’ve never had that experience as an actor before. I’ve usually managed to have a pretty good detachment from work.”
The actress goes on to reveal she looks terrible in the film, and her appearance scares her 23-month-old daughter Hazel. “I’m now playing the worst looking alcoholic in the world…” she adds. “Trust me – I can show you a picture. I think I frighten my own child! It’s that bad!”
The drama, which also stars Justin Theroux and Rebecca Ferguson, is due for release this year. The book is set in the U.K., but the new movie has been transplanted to New York, and Emily previously insisted she would be keeping her character British to appease fans. “It’s moved to New York but I’m going to play her as British, that was a decision Tate (director Tate Taylor) and I made recently,” she told the BBC. “I try not to get weighed down with what people are going to think of me. I’m going to have my own take on it.”
